In the past, when I took part in the contest for good foreign language teacher I always had many difficulties in designing lesson plan. I teach young students at the age of nine and ten years old .So I think very much this problem...I did not known the way to download pictures record my voice complete words ,games,etc...I went from this place to another place to ask for help.But now is very differenceI can do it myself thank to the instruct apprentices in detail of Jeff.
Especialy after reading article about CAll(Computer Assisted Language Learning) is useful for me . I can apply for my carrieer in my life.
There are many different definition of CALL of scientis from every where in the world but have general airm is served teaching and learning English with assisting computer.
The one more problem I want to mention is the are types of CALL such as CALL-specific softwafe,Generic software,Web based learning programs and Computer -mediated comunication(CMC) programs.For each of types he explains what it is used for,for example, CALL-specific solf ware is designed to develope and facilitate language learning,such as CD-ROMs,Web based interactive language learning exercises/quizzles.
Beside types of CALL activities such as multiple-choice and true fall quizzles,gap filling exercise/cloze,matching,reordering/sequencing, crossword puzzles,games,writing and word-processing,web quests/searching,online comunication...the develope of CALL,the problem lies in the physical position of computer that is it in the every classroom.
At lastI clearly understand about what computer can and can not do.Computer can Judge predetermined right or wrong anwers, for examples, multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank .Provide immediate ,yet fixed feedback,suggestion and encouragement...Computer can not Judge unexpected input,Provide individualized feedback beyon a predetermined list of messages...
